Restaurant in Brufe
António Portugal and Manuel Maria Reis

The building stands in a site descending in slopes towards the Homem river, near the small village of Brufe.

The roof continues the natural platform of the access road, on witch the volume with service entrance is the only mark, related to the natural rocky heights.

The main entrance is located in the platform below – with service areas against the terrain and public spaces wide open to the landscape.

The orientation and location searches for an intimate relation with the context, as well as the choice of materials: granite (in walls) and wood – in the non-glazed part of the main elevation, which continues the horizontal plane of the exterior deck.
