The residential buildings owned by the firm Imosedas, S.A. are part of blocks 1 and 2 of the housing estate of Quinta das Sedas, in Matosinhos, and basically a result of the configuration and areas stipulated for the estate.
The buildings, consisting of two basements and eight floors, including a receding one, comprise 24 one-bedroom flats, 110 two-bedroom flats, 24 three-bedroom flats and a lobby on the ground-floor (where two groups of access ways, a recreation lounge, a home-cinema room, a gymnasium, a common laundry, a waste room, and storage rooms are located).
In formal terms the edifices share a common base, from which
two autonomous volumes emerge, with façades enhanced by small continuous shading ledges, or brise-soleil, and balconies at the corners, thus creating spacious extensions to the living rooms
and bedrooms.
The arrangement of the ground-floor areas comprises green spaces. The indoor garden is particularly relevant as an element of vitalisation of the inner spaces.
